General Description
The M172A1 Telescope Mount is used to hold and support the M138A1 Elbow Telescope and M18A1 Fire Control Quadrant. The mount includes a vertical surface for measuring weapon elevation with the M1A1 Gunner’s Quadrant and supports the M139A1 Alignment Device and M154 Alignment Device during boresighting. It can be found on the right trunnion of the howitzer.
The M172A1 Telescope Mount is used on the M777 and M198 Howitzer.
